INITIAL QUESTIONNAIRE

CHARACTERISATION

Cardiovascular and performance data fed into the initial questionnaire are used to establish the preliminary training foundations, typically : RHR, HRR, Threshold, FTP, PMA, VMA, paces and intensity zones... Specific tests & analysis might be required at this stage (performance, stroke, gait, stride analysis,..) and a strategy shall be put in place to address the gaps (if any)

HIGH LEVEL PLANNING

A high level Plan is prepared based on the 5 pillars described earlier and two main principles :
  • Supercompensation (the body adaptation cycle that occurs after a training stimulus)
  • Periodization (the plan will be structured in main phases, subphases and mesocycles : Preparation (general & specific) and Competition (pre and main)

TRAINING ENVIRONMENT AND CONNECTIVITY SETUP

If connected sensors and watches are used (ZWIFT, WAHOO, fitbit, Polar, Garmin, Suunto, Apple, ..), a synchronisation can be operated with Training Peak – the performance analysis software - so that all data will be automatically transferred for review and analysis by the coach.

  • Update post activity comments
    - RPE (Rating of Perceived Exertion)
    - Any metrics requested by the coach
  • Analyse, feedback and adjust
